Before the start of
this class I really didn’t have experience with social bookmarking. I was
actually very intimidated by the Delicious website. Now that I have been using
it and putting all of my information into it I am so excited because I know
that I will always have that information. I also downloaded the free app to my
iPhone so accessing the information I tagged is literally at the touch of a
button. Social bookmarking makes my job of being a teacher a bit easier
especially now that there are the free apps that go along with the website so
accessing information is easy.
In the article 7 Things You Should Know About Social Bookmarking, I found the article interesting and I liked how the article explains what social bookmarking can do for education. Teachers are always looking for ways to save websites for future use and now there is a way to do that.

Tina, I shared your apprehension with using the Delicious website. Now that I have the app on my Ipad and am armed with a better understanding of how it works, I am a bookmarking machine.

I am surprised that there was so much apprehension in using Delicious. This is good feedback as I can add more content surrounding the use of Delicious to future classes to make students more at ease. Thanks for the postings.
ReplyDeleteI was also a little intimidated about Delicious especially when my very tech-savvy mother didn't know anything about it. Now (with my iPhone app) I feel so free to discover helpful sites and have a place to save them for the upcoming school year or for when they come up in conversation.
ReplyDeleteHa! I have the App on my iPad and iPhone too! I feel like the second someone tells me a great website I am grabbing my phone and bring up the Delicious App to save it. I have also been putting on my favorite sites so they can all be located in one spot and then I'm not rummaging around looking for a scrap of paper with a website on it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the importance of the Delicious website until I took this course, and initially, I thought it was irrelevant to teaching because I could always save a website to my favorites on my computer if I need to refer back to it. However, I noticed not only can I save valuable websites that I can use in my classroom someday but I can also get feedback on how great a resource is from other professionals in the same field.
